(HealthDay News) — Getting used to a new hearing aid can be challenging, but there are things you can do to help make the transition easier.
The American Academy of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery suggests how to ease the adjustment:
- First, wearing your hearing aid in quieter situations, and slowly expose yourself to louder environments.
- Keep a log of the places and times when your hearing aid felt most helpful.
- Be patient and give yourself time to get used to hearing in a new way.
- Speak with your doctor or hearing aid dispenser about any problems or concerns.
