Health Tip: Getting a Sports Physical

(HealthDay News) — Before a student hits the court, field or track to play a collegiate sport, he or she may need a sports physical.

The Cleveland Clinic says a sports physical should:

  • Assess the child’s overall health and wellness.
  • Determine the child’s fitness level and physical maturity.
  • Spot any current injury.
  • Diagnose any health condition that could increase your child’s risk of getting hurt.
