(HealthDay News) — Blood alcohol content (BAC) is the percentage of alcohol in a person’s bloodstream, says the American Addiction Centers. It can be measured 30 to 70 minutes after drinking.
Nothing can lower your BAC except time. Coffee, cold showers and chugging water will not help you sober up faster. Your BAC is generally determined by your gender, weight, quantity of alcohol consumed and time elapsed since drinking.
Online BAC calculators are meant for educational purposes and should not dictate your ability to drive, the AAC says.
