(HealthDay News) — Fibromyalgia is a condition characterized by pain throughout the body, and “tender points” of particular pain.
While the exact cause of fibromyalgia isn’t known, the U.S. National Women’s Health Information Center offers this list of possible contributing factors:
- Having a close family member who also has fibromyalgia.
- Having been in a car accident.
- Having a repetitive stress injury from performing the same activity repeatedly.
- Having an infection or chronic illness.
- Being sent to war.
