As Breast Cancer Awareness month winds down, some good news.Despite the stark reality of a breast cancer diagnosis, women say they can also learn and grow from it.This is being reported by Wake Forest researchers…who found this post-traumatic psychological growth in a group of 6-hundred-53 women.Their study tracked the group for approximately two years through multiple surveys. Over that time, participants reported:-a better appreciation for life-a feeling of increased personal strength-being more spiritual-enjoying enhanced relationships-and most had had a positive shift in life priorities.Positive personal growth increased over time…but the largest changes occurred in the first few months after diagnosis… Strong social support from friends, family and physicians helped.I’m Dr. Cindy Haines of HealthDay TV with the health news for you and your family.
