(HealthDay News) — Few things are more uncomfortable than dry, itchy skin. So, what’s behind it?
The American Academy of Dermatology says possible causes include:
- Aging. As you get older, your skin dries and thins. So make sure you use a daily moisturizer after age 40 or earlier.
- Living in a dry climate.
- Having a skin disease, such as eczema or psoriasis.
- Having a job in which your skin is often in water.
- Swimming in a pool that contains a lot of chlorine.
