Health Tip: Tackling Family Dinners

(HealthDay News) — Putting a healthy dinner on the table for your family each night can be a daunting task.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics mentions these suggestions to help you plan ahead:

  • Create a menu for a whole week’s worth of dinners at once.
  • Stock up on items that are quick and easy to fix, such as rice, pasta, beans and canned or frozen veggies.
  • Cook extra servings of beef or chicken, to freeze and use later.
  • Ask every member of the family to help prepare a meal in some way.
