(HealthDay News) — Fatigue occurs in more than 80 percent of people with MS, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society says.
The society suggests including these approaches to managing fatigue:
- Regulate your sleep, which might involve treating other MS symptoms that interfere with sleep (ie., spasticity, urinary problems).
- Psychological interventions, such as stress management, relaxation training, membership in a support group or psychotherapy.
- Heat management, including strategies to avoid overheating and to cool down.
- Medications to combat fatigue.
