(HealthDay News) — Metalworking involves using metals to create parts, assemblies or large-scale structures. As a job that requires a unique set of skills, it provides special hazards, as well, says Cornell University.
General metal work safety guidelines are:
- Wear eye protection at all times.
- Remove or secure jewelry, long hair and loose clothing.
- Avoid skin contact with metalworking fluid.
- Remove all metal scraps with a brush. Never by hand.
