(HealthDay News) — If you smoke while you’re pregnant, you’re exposing the baby to a host of harmful chemicals, including carbon monoxide, tar and nicotine, the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists says.
The ACOG says smoking during pregnancy can lead to these medical problems:
- An ectopic pregnancy.
- Bleeding.
- Complications with the attachment of the placenta to the uterus.
- Stillbirth.
- A baby with a low birth weight.
