The pediatrician can assist the school system in figuring out which, if any, special education services the child may be eligible for.

Also, the pediatrician can help the school system better understand the child’s disability, and which programs may be best suited to the child.

Lastly, as your child progresses in school, the pediatrician can help both you and the school system understand the child’s changing needs, the academy says.
