Running -even just a little bit- can help extend your life new research suggests.
The conclusion published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology follows the tracking of fatalities among more than 55,000 adults between the ages of 18 and 100. Roughly 1/4 indicated they ran at least a little as part of routine leisure-time activity. Over a 15-year period, more than 3400 died about 1200 from cardiovascular disease. But regardless of gender, weight, age, or smoking status those who ran faced a 30% lower risk for death due to any cause. Runners also saw their risk for death due to cardiovascular disease drop by 45%… and outlived non-runners by 3 years.
