(HealthDay News) — Running, walking or hiking trails can be a fun way to enjoy the great outdoors and get some exercise.
But it’s important to make sure you’re dressed properly for your adventure.
The American Council on Exercise offers this advice before you hit the trails:
- Wear a quality pair of sturdy trail running shoes; don’t wear regular running shoes.
- Wear socks made of synthetic fibers in case your feet get wet, and to reduce the risk of blisters.
- Dress in layers that will help wick moisture away from your body and keep you cool and dry as you change altitude.
- Bring a sturdy pole to help you navigate the terrain.
