(HealthDay News) — You certainly don’t relish the thought of a tornado approaching your home, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t prepare.
The National Weather Service suggests:
- Designating the safe spot where family members should go. In general, head to the lowest floor and avoid windows and doors.
- Storing supplies, such as a mattress or heavy blankets, in this space to protect yourself.
- Keeping a weather radio handy.
- If not at home, family members should know what to do and where to seek safe shelter before and during a bad storm.
