(HealthDay News) — Low-dose aspirin therapy helps lower the risk of heart attack in many people, but it isn’t for everyone.
The American Diabetes Association says you should avoid aspirin therapy if:
- You have an allergy to aspirin.
- You bleed easily.
- You’ve had recent bleeding in the digestive tract.
- You have active liver disease.
- You are younger than age 21.
The association says you should check with your doctor to determine if aspirin therapy is safe for you.
