(HealthDay News) — Sitting in the car may not be the only way to get to work.
The American Council on Exercise offers these suggestions for turning commute time into exercise time:
- If possible, walk or bike to work.
- If you take public transportation, walking to the bus stop or train station is great exercise.
- Ask your employer’s human resources department what’s available to help you achieve a more active commute, such as free bike storage or employee showers.
- Ask colleagues if you can join them for a walk or bike to work, or find an online group that travels the same route.
