Health Tip: Sleeping When You’re Pregnant

(HealthDay News) — Sleep eludes many women during pregnancy for a variety of reasons.

To help fight insomnia during pregnancy, the National Sleep Foundation suggests:

  • Relax in a warm bath, get a massage from your partner, or write in a journal to help calm worries about your baby.
  • Avoid large, spicy and greasy meals close to bedtime.
  • Drink lots of fluids, but do so earlier in the day and limit fluids close to bedtime.
  • Sleep with extra pillows. Try resting on your left side to help you get comfortable.
