Health Tip: Get Involved in Your Child's Internet Use

(HealthDay News) — An involved parent can help keep a child safe while he or she uses the Internet.

The University of Michigan Health System says parents should:

  • Take action to protect a child’s online privacy.
  • Place the computer in a visible, common area instead of the child’s bedroom.
  • Create a shared email account, so you can monitor emails sent and received.
  • Surf the Internet together.
